About my work

My aim is simple; to retell your story by witnessing and recording real moments in order to provide you with a beautiful, lasting record of your wedding day. No filters or photoshop effects, only timeless photos which you will always appreciate in the years to come.

“Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Dan, you are an amazing photographer and a truly wonderful person. It was hard work preparing the barn and a mammoth DIY wedding but it was well worth it. I didn’t know you got most of the pics but that just shows how professional you are, you blended into the background and got so many natural shots, I would recommend your services in a heartbeat. Thank you so much xx” – Helly & Andy

My preferred style is documentary photography, which means I take natural, informal, reportage photographs which capture the spirit of your entire wedding day from the beginning through to the end. I’m there to make a record of everything you’ve planned for, I won’t be stealing the limelight by trying to make something happen. For most of the day, your guests won’t be directed by me and I won’t make them ‘do’ anything – they might not even notice that I was there!

While I try to be as discreet as I can be and don’t want to interrupt or impose on your special day, I do believe there is a place for some posed group portraits. Before a wedding day takes place, I like to liaise with couples so that the traditional group portraits are planned for and covered efficiently without the need to be bossy. I direct these moments so the session as relaxed and quick as possible, typically around 20 minutes from start to finish so that you and your guests can get back to enjoying your celebrations and I can continue to work unobtrusively.

Half of my art is in the editing which takes place after your day. Your images are provided in colour with some of your photographs processed as duplicates in black and white; all are edited to a very high standard to give them my classic look which is never over-processed.
